Air Force Major General William A. Dietrich was the president of USBA
when he died on December 18, 1989. He had been our president since 1985, and
prior to that, the Executive Director since 1975.
General
Dietrich was a charter member of USBA, going back to its inception in 1959, and
first elected to the Board of Governors in 1972.
It is
the spirit of his friendship and leadership which we choose to memorialize with
this scholarship. He is missed.
