Since 1992, Wreaths Across America (WAA) has made it a mission to remember fallen U.S. veterans, honor those who serve, and teach our children the value of freedom through visits to schools, civic groups and other organizations. It all starts with the laying of fresh evergreen wreaths on military gravesites in national cemeteries across America each December.

This holiday season, USBA is sponsoring the placement of 500 wreaths on veterans’ graves located at Ft. Leavenworth in Kansas. In fact, on December 16th, all the national cemeteries across the nation will have volunteers placing wreaths on graves. National Wreaths Across America Day has coordinated this tradition for many years and USBA is proud to participate in it. “Our employees have a special relationship with those we serve,” says USBA President Colonel Robin A. Snyder, USAF (Ret.). “Our staff understands and feels the loss each member’s family experiences as they grieve. This is why USBA employees are volunteering their time this December 16th to lay wreaths and pay tribute to our heroes buried at the Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery.”

If you sponsor two wreaths this year, it will actually cover the cost of a third wreath at no additional cost to you. Your sponsored wreath will be placed at Ft. Leavenworth, but if you have a significant person at this cemetery you wish to honor and want your wreath presented upon his or her gravesite, USBA is happy to do that for you. We will even send you a picture of the decorated gravesite.

There are 30,000 gravesites at Ft. Leavenworth, one of our country’s oldest and largest cemetery. Every donated wreath will be a meaningful expression of our thoughts and remembrance of those who have come to this final resting place.

It’s easy to sponsor a wreath. And by special arrangement with WAA, when you go to USBA’s page and sponsor two wreaths, a third will be added at no additional cost to you. To honor a specific veteran interred at Ft. Leavenworth National Cemetery, please email Karen Vogan with your donation confirmation number.
