USBA is proud to serve the families who serve our Nation

President’s Letter

USBA CEO Robin Snyder

Since the founding of USBA in 1959, we’ve worked to serve the life insurance needs of America’s service men and women and their families. Through the years our Association has expanded to offer those same exceptional insurance products and services to our Active Reserves, National Guard, Federal employees, honorably discharged Veterans and others.

For more than six decades USBA has maintained a steadfast commitment to excellence – quality products to meet the needs of our members and their families, a 25-plus year relationship with New York Life Insurance Company that promises long-term viability, and a staff consistently lauded for the high quality service they provide throughout the lifetime of your membership.

I’m very proud of the accomplishments of USBA and our staff throughout our 60 years and look forward to the Association’s continued success in the future.

Sincerely,

Our History

USBA was founded in 1959 to meet the needs of Active Duty military personnel, who at that time had difficulty finding adequate life insurance coverage that would cover combat-related deaths. USBA was one of the first companies to do away with the “war clause” in all of its coverages.

Our Mission

USBA is a not-for-profit association that provides affordable group life insurance, health insurance supplements, and other products and services to military personnel, Federal employees, National Guard and Reserve members, Veterans and their families with the highest ethical standards of conduct and service.

Our Leadership

USBA’s President and CEO is Colonel Robin A. Snyder, USAF (Ret.). Snyder comes to this position after more than five years as USBA’s Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Prior to this, Snyder served over 27 years in the United States Air Force as a senior level officer with wide-ranging management, operational and strategic responsibilities.

Our Board of Directors

USBA is governed by a Board of Directors elected annually by the membership. Board members typically serve a three-year term. Our current board:
