Free Tickets for Military Members, Veterans and Their Families

Free Tickets for military members, veterans and their families

If one of the things you’re most looking forward to is being able to attend exciting in-person events again, we have great news for you. Free tickets are available for military members, veterans and their families! Interested in attending a big-name concert, an NFL game, Disney World or even the Super Bowl? You just might be able to, thanks to the Veterans Tickets Foundation.

Also known as Vet Tix, this non-profit organization was founded by veterans Mike Focareto and Chris Blindheim. They attended the 2008 Super Bowl together, and noticed the color guard were not given seated tickets to the game. Instead, they were ushered off the field after their performance and were able to watch the game from the standing only section, despite there being many unfilled seats across the stadium.

Focareto, a disabled Navy veteran, and Blindheim, a Marine vet, were disappointed by the missed opportunity—and inspired to do something about it. The next day they filed the paperwork to create Vet Tix with a goal of giving something to those who gave. They understand the stress that comes both with active duty and re-entry back into “normal” life. Their organization encourages military members and veterans to stay engaged with their local communities through tickets to events that can help relieve stress, strengthen bonds with friends and family, and build lifelong memories. The vision that began with one empty seat at the Super Bowl has now turned into nearly 10 million seats filled through tickets given to military members and their families in all 50 states and Washington, D.C.

Vet Tix provides tickets to all active-duty military members and veterans, including immediate family of troops who were killed in action. Tickets encompass a wide range of activities, including sporting events, concerts, theme parks, performing arts, educational and family activities across the nation.

If you are interested in free tickets, please visit the Vet Tix website to register. The organization will verify your service. Once that step is complete, you can check out the hundreds of open events to see what interests you. You’ll pay a small delivery fee to receive your free tickets. It’s that simple!
